Introduction

What is IDON?

IDON is a pioneering open-source project initiated , designed to reshape how digital identities are recognized and authenticated across the internet. At its core, IDON utilizes a Proof-of-Person (PoP) consensus mechanism which equitably distributes voting power by linking each network node to a verified digital identity—referred to as a "cryptoidentity." This approach not only affirms the humanness and uniqueness of each participant but does so without the need for collecting personally identifiable information (PII).

IDON's innovative consensus model addresses the need for a universal and anonymous digital identity system by conducting a global Turing test simultaneously. This test validates that each participant is a unique human, which is crucial for maintaining the integrity and fairness of the platform.

IDON Team

Comprising a group of anonymous engineers and computer scientists with shared values, the IDON team is dedicated to upholding the right to freely and privately exchange information and value. Our team believes that the current systems can be improved significantly to achieve enhanced decentralization and scalability, particularly in how software systems and blockchains function.

As advocates for privacy and decentralization, we are committed to developing technology that supports these ideals, making IDON a foundation for future innovations in blockchain and digital identity verification.
